Hey Gang...
Just about to hook up a tach on my boat (1977 Merc. 115 engine)
Does anyone know where I can get a merControl tach harness??
Can I bypass the plug-in on the controller or rig something up??
Much appreciated,
~Neon~

Re: merControl Tach Harness

The most drastic and cheapest is to cut off the plug and splice the tach wires to the harness. The best connection is of course the factory harness. Check Twin City Outboards or any other marine recycler/salvage yard in your area. Third, get some female pins at Radio Shack. Attach them to your tach wires, Put heat shrink on each terminal end. Plug each wire into the appropriate pin on the plug from the controller. Secure with tape. Or you can coat the the inside of the plug with a lubricant, attach the wires, and fill the cavity with epoxy. Presto -- a home brew plug is born.

Thanks Upinsmoke!
A harness/plug would be oh so much easier (if I can find one!) but I do appreciated the back-up plans for getting around it.

~Neon~
