Working on a 1987 mercruiser 470 engine. Engine idles rough. when giving gas it stalls or bogs down. Engine 90% of the time just stalls when idling. Traced the problem to fuel leaking out of the venturies. Even with engine shut off fuel leaks out of the venturies. Rebuilt the carb. Doubled checked the float level. Carb still does the same thing. Removed carb of engine. I filled the carb bowl up to a 1/4 inch from the top and sure enough fuel starts to leak out the venturies. Is the carb shot??
