Howdy. My 78 Merc 115 trim motor is blowing fuses. I'm finally hooked up right and started pumping the oil into the lines and after about 3 seconds it blows a 30 amp fuse. Do I need a bigger fuse or is the problem bigger. The trim worked last year when I got it from another boat. I did replace one of the solonoids with one from Auto zone, could that be the problem or one of the problems. How do I bleed the system? Any more help would be great. Thanks to the people that have already helped.

If you are blowing fuses, I would say it is deffinately a solenoid problem. Check the resistance on the coil, or take it back to AZ. Good luck.

where is this fuse located? Don't recall one on that system. If it is something you installed on your own, 30 amp is not large enough for TnT....

Thanks you guys! I did add the fuse.Do you think it's ok to run it without a fuse since it didn't have one? Or how big would you say it needs?

If you want to add a fuse, it should be around 80amp. I don't think its necessary.......They don't use them on most TnT's

ok ya'll I'm on my way out now to get rid of the fuse. A guy in a Merc repair shop told me 20 amps was enough but I know better. I'll give 'er a try and if you don't hear from me I blew up with the rest of the boat. Thanks
