I have a 1994 Sea Rayder with a Merc Sport jet 90.<br />It seems like a lot of people have posted the have big starting problems.<br />I have similar problems but in reviewing the posts I did not see how to check for a bad stator.<br />One post says squirt wd-40 in the carbs, but this thing has three carbs on top of each other, so I am not sure how to do that.<br />Also I think the voltage regulator is burned up..at least it is black. My service guy says that a bad stator could burn up the voltage regulator. (they were talking about $900 in parts) I also read about this red stator kit, but don't know who to ask or what I am looking for.<br />The merc site has no info whatsoever about this engine. Any help/ directions that you can give would be great.<br />thanks!
