Should I get an 85hp merc for 1000 or 105 Chrysler for 700! Both in good shape.
Don’t know anything about the Chrysler. But I know that an 85hp merc will be a very old engine for sure. I know enough about the Chrysler to know that’s also very old too.
Not sure on value of these things where you are…but might be a little on the high side for such old engines.
Anyway…most important of all is their health and condition.
An absolute must and the first thing you need to do, is a compression check on them. To determine the health of them. Check around them for signs of corrosion and salt water use, without the proper care to counter it.
Could you not get a nicer slightly newer late 80’s early 90’s engine for not much more ?
