just drained my engine for winter layup and want to replace the circulating pump hose off the front of the engine. the # on it is 32-87108. i have found the Sierra replacement but would prefer to stick with the mercruiser parts. where can i find them? did a Google search but nothing came up (found 1 source but it was out of stock). ideally i would like to replace all the hoses. anyone sell a kit? it would be very difficult for me to buy the correct ones individually

another question...the drain plugs are a pain to get out. they are sort of like a wing nut. hard to get pliers on them. anyone change them to a different head? or is there a special tool for these ones? i thought about taking an old socket and cutting 2 slots in it to fit over it?

i think my engine ID # is 0A593759 if that helps. 1986 Merc 260

yep. #30 it is. mine looks fine but the end of the inner spring broke off when i removed it. looked pretty rusty. they all look ok visually but without knowing when they were last replaced i figured it might be best to replace all of them and be done with it

thanks

If you're referring to the block drain petcocks, I've got a great set on mine. It seems that I went through at least one petcock each year with the cheap parts store until I bought a parts boat that had a heavy duty set. They have been flawless for the past few years and can easily be opened by hand. The closest thing I could find to mine is Sierra 18-4218. Much stronger than those cheap ones with the riveted wing. thanks for that hauln. those look similar to mine but mine is more of a wing nut type. mine are brass so durability isn't an issue, just trying to get a wrench on them is the hard part.
