merc gas?

just wanting to know if i can use like a gas treatment in the gas can like one for cars and how fast can you run your engine on muffs? its a 63 50 hp merc 500

Use SeaFoam gas treatment. Napa auto stores /shucks also carry it. I don't think you would want to run more than 1800-2000 rpm on muffs.

What we call "muffs" is an attachment to feed water from a garden hose to the engine for running it out of the water, BL.

They are a semicircular frame with large suction cups at the ends to fit over the water intakes of the outboard. On of them has a connection for a garden hose.
