merc control cable problem help req.

does anyone have any tips on freeing a merc. control cable its siezed at engine end and i cant get it out of the control unit as it wont move enough to line up with lever lock screw hole<br />had it soaking in penatrating oil for 24 hrs but still won't budge.<br />help please???????

Hello shakespear<br /> This is probably what you don't want to hear but. Check to see if parts are available. There should be no real problem. Take all your measurements of your cable. Then just cut it. Most of the time if you free these cables, they just turn rite around and mess-up. I think your money ahead to buy new. If they're just stuck a little bit, it may be different.
