Merc 9.9 problem

I have an early 90's merc 9.9
It starts up and idles fine but when I go to open it up it will bog for a while then it will finallly catch its breath and start to go wide open. I havenever had this problem before. The plugs are new, I cleaned the carb at the beginning of the year.

Any ideas on what this could be? Fuel pump, carb, fuel??

Are the stator and the throttle advancing in synch? Sometimes one or the other will stick and lag behind on opening up.
