I have a 1968 110/9.8. When looking at the manual, the weep hole (cooling exhaust) is shown on the head plate. Mine is on the top of the cylinder block on the left hand side looking from the rear to the front. Is this a true 9.8 or has someone that owned the motor before me upgraded the chassie with a larger block? Anyone have any suggestions/info? Thanks in advance.

Look for the serial number on the ID plate (side of leg or between thumbscrews) and then find the number stamped into the block--should match.

If the block was switched it's still probably a 9.8, but could be a different year. If you have a generic manual (like Climer) they just aren't all that accurate. Factory manual is recommended. A year-specific parts list is also recommended since every manual covers several years.
