Hooked up bad gas and wouldn't start. Purchased new gas and it would start and idle fine. The problem is that after 1/4 throttle it wants to bog down and eventually die. I assume that new spark plugs would be an option so i'm going to do that. But i'm looking for other option to try before i have to take it to a marina..Please help!!!!

------------------
Edward V. Hayes II

Clean the carbs. If you had bad gas, I am guessing that it might have been dirty. After you give the carbs some gas, your main jet will kick in. If something is stopping it up, it will lean out the engine, and potentially burn it up. You need to take off the bowls of the carbs, get some powertune, and clean. Also, since you are getting the new spark plugs, if the motor is leaning out, the spark plug will look white on the tip. If it does, don't run it till you fix the prob. Let me know what you find. Hi
I had same problem....not the bad fuel...
It was the pump on the fuelline, the litle ball inside was stock.
Maybe the Fuel pump, Filter must be cleaned.
Mikael
