I have an old 650 merc with the lightning energizer ignition.
I used CC's post on how to do rough timimg.
Then we went to the water and actually put the timing light on it at speed.
Wide open I have 38 degrees total advace against the stop, that is what the sticker on the motor says it should have. it shows about 3 degrees in gear at idle.
Have I done it right or did I goof up somewhere?
