Merc 60 EFI Fluctuating motor speed at any speed, air in fuel filter

I've replaced the IAC Valve - no improvement. Also checked and tightened all fuel hose connections up to the filter. It seems to be sucking in air and will gradually drain as the engine runs. If I remove the filter element it stays full, but the engine speed still fluctuates and the engine can sometimes just die.

I have not yet pulled the fuel inlet in the tank to see if it has a problem.

Thanks

Yep. Pulled it out of the water (not easy), took it to the dealer, they had it for two weeks, said it was a cracked spark plug and it was running perfect. Took it back, put it back in the lake (not easy) and it was running a bit better but still speed fluctuates and the thing stalls. Dealer said "just bring it in again" like it was easy. They won't send anyone out, I bought the boat from them last August and I'm pissed off (to put it mildly). I need to get this working by July 4 and I'm not willing to go through the hassle of getting it back to the dealer. I don't trust them for one thing. SO my only choice if I want it running soon is to fix it myself. Shame on Mercury Marine, but unfortunately they are following the trend that customer service is following these days -- there is none.

No expert on OB's (just bought 2 new ones) but might contact Merc customer service to ask why your having issues with the fix? While they may not "want" to acknowledge there is an issue with a dealer, it will be documented there is a problem
