shane,<br />look at your Mercontrol. what gear is it in? that's the gear the lower unit has to be in, too. rotate the shift shaft until you match that gear. in N the prop will freewheel in both directions. in F it will only turn clockwise. in R it will only turn counterclockwise. betcha its in N...take your time and be patient putting it back on cause it will want to slip out of N as you put it on. its best to start in F, before you take the lower off...easiest to get back on that way.
