Merc 470 head removal...

i have a Merc 190hp need to pull the head<br /><br />what is the bolt removal sequence for taking off the head? dont want to warp it... do i need to pull the carb to pull the head?<br /><br />thanks all, as always

Start in the middle work your way out with the bolts. If you have room, leave the carb on if you like. Watch out for fuel spillage.

captkid,I pull the carb and set it on a bench just so it doesn't get turned upside down and sediment dosen't go where it's not needed.<br />When you put the head (engine) back togeather...be sure to have all the torque specs.Manifolds,resevoirs,etc.are crital more so on your engine than the GM / FORD cast iron ones.<br />DHP
