Merc 4.3 after doing oil/filter change, audible alarm beeps intermittently

I just did an oil/filter change on my 06 Merc 4.3L V6 262CID, and was given a longer filter (Quicksilver 35-883702K), than the one installed before, (Quicksilver 35-883702Q), they said it was a superseded part. Installed new filter and used the recommended Merc 25W-40 synthetic blend oil.

Now, the audible alarm is beeping 2 short times anytime the power is reduced from plane to idle. Oil is 45 PSI (@ 1500RPM aprox), I say aprox since my RPM gauge is now inoperative, I dont know why but dont think is something related. The temp is peg @ 180. All fluids are topped off. Could it be a bad sensor? If so, how can I test it? Are the oil pressure and water temp within range? Will the new, longer oil filter be the issue?

Thank you very much.

Is your oil level over the full mark? if it is, and gets aerated from hitting the crankshaft, it can cause that problem.

Is your oil level over the full mark?

No Don, it isn't. I checked the dipstick with boat sitting on a very calm lake and the level is right where it should be.

What do you suggest my next step be?
