Thanks all in advance for your responses!
1986 3.0L Merc 140. Has no spark at Coil. I stored for winter just uncovered and charged battery. cranked motor and no fire or sputter, checked fuel and it is squirting for the carb so assume it is not a fuel issue. Put my spark tester across the #1 plug and nothing. checked voltage at (+) terminal on coil have 10+ volts. checked it on the (-) terminal and get same voltage. so I am getting the juice I need. Next i put my spark tester on coil and grounded it. No spark! even jumpered 12V directly from battery to the (+) terminal on coil.
New coil? just replaced it last year! did I miss something?
Time to switch to electronic ignition? if so Any suggestions on which make of electronic ignition?
Thanks for your time!
