Wanted to get some opinions on what my problem may be and how much I should expect to get fixed. 89' SeaRay with a 3.0L Mercruiser 4cyl. When started, water flows from just under where the manifold meets the motor. Its underneath so I cant really see up in there to tell what/where its coming from. So far I have been told everything from a cracked block, to cracked manifold, to a buster water jacket? I checked oil for water and dont find any. Engine runs fine and didnt overheat when running. Course once I saw the problem I immediatly shut it down. Any opinions? Thanks.

Could be just a gasket. Put it on the hose and run it and with a flashlight look for the leak. Its hard to see it from here! :)

Re: Merc 3.0L leaking water

if the gasket between the manifold and the block is bad would that cause water to leak out? I used a flashlight and mirror to look under the manifold with no luck. Pulled the exhaust elbow and look into manifold. very bottom of manifold looks wet, dont know if its gas or water. But there is no standing water inside. The small vents on the manifold do look somewhat gunked. The water flowing out is a constant flow, again running directly from somewhere under neath where manifold meets block. Dunno if I pulled the carb if I could see any better. Dont know if I want to journey into taking entire manifold off. Thanks again for the reply.

There's a drain plug up and under the manifold check tp see if it's loose/out or just leaking.
