Merc 260 carb needles - help

Anybody our there devise a tool or a way to adjust the carb needles with the engine running..<br /><br />the therm housing and houses on mine seem to make this an impossible concept but clearly it is possible..<br /><br />its a rochester qjet.. <br /><br />so any ideas? I have a standard flexible carb adjusting tool.. but it just doesnt fit..<br /><br />any creative ideas?

Hey uncle_llyods,<br />I suggested a tip in your other post for more advanced compresion test,the manual says 20psi differance you have a problem, and a screwdriver(you may have to make it)with a cable shaft for hard to reach places. may have to use your imagination on that one bud.<br /> good luck

could be that my intake manifold isnt standard on the 260.. anybody know which current intake is best suited for 1982 Merc 260? with a qjet carb
