On our first time out checking this new to us 99 Merc 25 hp 2 stroke. It runs perfect other than this issue noted below . . .
We have no tach or speedo. When the throttle is pushed all the way down as we were moving along at I would guess 32 mph the O/B started to load up a little like it was getting too much fuel. I backed it off a little and we were still doing about the same speed but no loading up.
I had already changed the plugs before it's maiden run (the old ones looked like a very light brown normal burning color to me) and a local boat shop said (a Johnson dealer) said a 1999 Merc has no points as they are electronic.
Is this lagging at full throttle normal?
