condiering purchasing a merc225 2005 optimax, any feedback on prior years would be appreciated.<br /><br /> mistylady

I did purchase the above engine and have been very pleased with it's starting, and performance. I reccomend the smart gage to read the rpm's and 15 other functions. Must keep the boat oil resivouir pick up screen clean, as the engine has only three pounds of pressure to send oil to the engine tank. Good Luck!

optipop, good engines, run a set on a tourny boat.. not one problem ever, not as mush as a pait chip...cant say the same for the fichts or hp dies..good luck
