Merc 2007 60hp four stroke Big Foot beep

have a mercury 2007 60hp four stroke big foot, purchased new march 09 on sun tracker pontoon, no problems all summer, coming in after maybe 2 hours of engine running at low speed, got 1 quick beep, with a short acelleration, happened again just a few minutes later at low speed, nothing in the book about 1 quick beep. any ideas? conservative dealer wants me to pull out of water and dock just to check, but the motor seemed to run just fine after that.

One single short beep is usually reserved for when you turn the ignition on. As far as I'm aware, it does not relate to any problems.

I would suggest that you check the oil level and water flow. Also check the battery voltage, ECU's do funky things if there is under or over voltage. If everything checks out o/k don't worry to much, just get it checked over next service. The ECU will log and store any fault incidents.
