I have a bad misfire on my '89 Merc 200 Black Max
So far we have tried to fix it by replacing:
Plugs and leads.
Two coils on the 2 cyls.which appear to be having the problem.
Changed the stator.
Changed the thermostats (to raise the operating temp)
Checked all running voltages etc.on coils/power packs. All ok
Engine appears to be oiling all 6 plugs but 2 are worse and not burning correctly.
Sometimes the misfire appears to be tied in with the low oil warning alarm sounding especially from start up.
The engine has on occasion cleared itself after running at trolling rpm (2000) for about 15 mins then ran ok for the rest of the day until next time out.
I,m wondering could it be the small non return valve which allows the oil to be injected into the fuel line letting too much oil mix with the fuel?
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Rich Neal (New Zealand)
