I have a 1998 200EFI Merc. that has low hours and has been in storage for a year. Absolutely no problems before that, but now it won't start. Plugs have fire, and are nearly dry, even after extensive cranking.

Is there a trick to get the fuel injection working again?

Any comments appreciated.

Sounds like the kill switch which is designed to kill the motor if you fall out of the boat. Its in the off position

Re: Merc 200 EFI

Thanks for the comments. As it turns out, "Stabil" in the gas tank does not equal stabil in the engine, unless you run the engine for a while. Has bad gas at the fuel injection/oil mixing device, and eventually got fuel to this device by pressing the schrader valve on the fuel system, while pumping the fuel line bulb. After starting, had a steady pulse of fuel from a vent on what I believe is a return line to the fuel injection system----took it to the shop--and mechanic confirmed the injection mechanism has a needle/seat that is problably stuck and return fuel could not return. Basis disassembly and cleaning of injector device required.

The device is a vapor separator, and has a float and needle, just like a carbuator.
