I have a 1972 Merc 200 Long shaft ser. no.3431263,with thunderbolt maker-point ignition with Module.Will the Thunderbolt breaker-less ignition with switch box off a 1975 Merc 200 ser.no.4293793 work on the older motor.Are any of the components,coils,etc interchangable.My older motor has electrical problems,my newer motor has wasted powerhead.Any help greatly appreciated.Thanks,<br /> DAVE

no, but you might be able to change all the componets and flywheel and make it work

If you decide not to try the conversion, I might be interested in some of those ignition parts from the 4293793 for spares on my engine.
