I need some tips on lowering my motor 2 holes due to cavitation. There are no easy places to hook onto the motor for lifting. Do I use tow straps between the turning hinge and lower unit? Anybody gone through this before??

Just had an Idea, Why not support the motor on its sceg (fin) with a block of wood, then use the tounge jack on your trailer to adjust hieght, and would suggest 2 people do this. The "official" way is to fasten a eyelet to your flywheel and raise the motor with a hoist.

Just a guess, but I would bet the real problem lies with your propeller, but I dont know the condition of the prop or how this cavitation problem occured.

yep. agree may want to verify prop.<br />But the way to remove it was mentioned is correct. we used cinder blocks with 2x4 on cav plate holds motor in place rather well.
