Merc 135V6 - Troubled starting after long warm-up

After running my motor for a while I turn it off to go fishing. When I try to turn it back over, it does not start right away. I have to put the throttle into neutral-forward and cranck it that way or it will not stay on in idle.
This is particularly difficult if I'm fishing a rocky shoreline because I need to get it started in a hurry if I'm drifting too close to a rock pile.
Is there something simple I can try to fix this?

Doug...I'm certainly not an expert with Mercs, but it almost certainly has to be a fuel problem...if you get a lot of smoke when it finally does start you might have fuel leaking out of carb causing flooding...first things I do when I do not have a obvious solution to a problem is a compression check, spark check, fuel supply check (all the way from carb to tank vent).
If you don't see much smoke when it finally starts
you may need to simply use the choke, or enricher to get it restarted. Keep trying someone has the answer...just a Thought

My dealer sold me some little restrictors to put in the drain tubes that run from the side if the block.I believe there was a bulletin on it. It helped mine to start easier after a hot soak restart. If you need a picture of where they go, send me a note at stangozzi@aol.com
