we have a merc 110 9.8 hp serial # 7103005 (1977?)

bought used not sure if prop is correct ( maybe someone put on the wrong one ) it has to much slop on shaft .

Yes that is a 1977 Canadian model. If the play is up and down on the shaft then it is the wrong prop (hub). If back and forth the thrust bushing may be missing or the wrong one.
