I have another question concerning my 1972 Merc 110. The throttle is very stiff and seems like it needs lubricating...any suggestions? The tiller grip works fine...it is the part that actually rotates just below the flywheel that is stiff. If I assist the tiller grip, it moves without any problems; however, if I just use the tiller grip, it is very hard to turn. What kind of lubrication should I use, and where should I apply it?

Thanks!

Tom

Hey TomF,
Not having the thing right here in front of me makes it kinda tough but ya might consider disassembling the mechanism, clean it up, lube it, put it back together and see what happens.

c/6

Hooty

Check the cable again, sometime small interal cracks in the cable can cause a problem.
