I have a 1990 Merc 100hp that is having some bogging issues over about 3000 RPMs. There is a similar post regarding the accelerator pump, but I don't really understand what the pump does. Is it just for providing extra fuel for acceleration? or does it constantly provide extra fuel to cyl 3&4 above idle? I have the pump removed because it was causing issues, but I don't want to run the motor without it if it will cause a lean condition in the bottom 2 cylinders
Is this pump required for the engine to run properly?
