I have just recently acquired a fantastic merc 1000 series 100hp. after some fuel line replacements the engine runs like a champ, carbs have been rebuilt and the engine entirely cleaned, it runs like it should have the day it came out of the box, its a true performer. i believe its a '62, this is the best motor I have owned to date. Mercury is the only motor I have ever owned and this motor has ensured my faith in the brand and reassures my love for these classic engines. But with all things considered I am pushing a light boat with a little drag. With so simple of an engine and carb set up, is there anything that can be done make this puppy go a little faster? with all of todays technology and fuel injection there has to be something that can fit on this motor/ improve performance or am I stuck with what I got?
