Hello boaters,

I'm looking at places out in Puget Sound to take my boat for Memorial Day. As I'm sure is no surprise, everybody and their brother will be on the water that weekend. I've started looking at a few places in the San Juan Islands and many marinas are already full or nearly full. Without knowing the weather, I don?t want to make a reservation, spend the $$, and then not be able to go if the seas are too high or if weather is bad.

My question is this?with the marinas being full, it appears as if I'm the only one with this concern. How do you plan ahead for a trip when weather is unknown? Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Also - any good recommendations for a place in the Puget Sound or San Juans? My boat is a 24 Sea Ray Cabin Cruiser.

If you have a cabin cruiser then boating in inclement weather should be a problem. Does your boat trailer? If so you could come to Bellingham and launch from Squallicum Harbor and head out to Sucia Island, since it is a state park it is pretty much first come first serve.
