Can anyone tell me how to wire a Medallion Tach. I do not know the part number of the tach but it is a two wire tach and one wire for the light. The motor is a 12 pulse (6 pole) system made by Mercury. The medallion tach has three settings: 5, 8, & 6. I was told by a friend the 6 is for a 6 pole setting. Can anyone confirm? There are three electrical terminals on the tach: IGN, GRND, and LIGHT. The harness has the following tach wires: purple (ign), grey (sender - coil), black (grnd), blue (light). Can you tell me how to connect this tach? Does anyone have installation instructions for Medallion instruments?

The first thing you need to do is start a new thread of your own, and include some engine and tack ID info.

No reason to hijack an old 2005 thread to ask your question.
