Mechanical vs Electric Fuel Pump

I am restoring a '74 Glastron boat powered by a 302 Ford. I have noticed that many of the boats are using and electric fuel pump. Since the boat has not been run for ten years I am wondering if I should go back with a new mechanical fuel pump or convert to an electric.

Recommendations?

there's No advantage to going electric...

New mechanical. Fewer headaches, and cheaper than buying a marine-rated electric.
