I have a new 2003 Nissan 30HP outboard on my homemade duck boat and I need to measure the WOT RPM to ensure I have the right prop.

What type of tach should I use? Could I buy one cheeper than paying $65 per hour for the local boat dealer to run it and measure the RPM's? Would I have any other uses for it? Is there any advantages to mounting a tach perminatly for a small outboard?

Oops! Should this be in the nonrepair catagory?

Tinytach looks like the way to go. Any idea which one I would need? My Nissan is a 3 cyl but I'm not sure how it fires.

How does the ignition on a 25c2 work? I have a tiny tach for a Rude 88. would this read correctly?

Re: Measuring WOT RPM

I got the TinyTach, installed it (EZ) and it works great.
