Mc1 260 to alpha1 gen1

Will the engine have to be pulled to switch out transom? 1979 cobalt 19' BR

found a gem 1 transom with a 4 hole offset exhaust, seems to look the same just the internal hole isn't straight through wl this work with a 260?

any insight into this endeavor would be appreciated, thank you in advance

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,.....

The transom assembly is the foundation for the driveline, ya gotta pull the drive, then the motor, to remove it,.....

The problem yer gonna have is, the rear motor mount spacin',....

You need the flywheel cover from the Alpha to match the narrower rear motor mounts,.....
Then, you may, or may not have to swap the coupler to match everything together,.....
