MC-1 trim cylinder rebuild question

I'm going to rebuild the trim cylinders on my MC-1 drive (1972, unknown drive S/N) and I'm wondering if the aft pivot end needs to be unscrewed from the piston rod.

Manual #4 (Page 5-19) has the rebuild procedure and it shows the aft pivot end being unscrewed from the piston rod first, then everything gets disassembled and rebuilt. Later trim cylinders have the pivot end welded on the piston rod, so I'd like to save myself the grief of trying to remove the 40 year old threaded fitting, if that's possible.

(I know I'll still have the grief of removing the 40 year old threaded fitting on the end caps...)

Thanks!

Re: MC-1 trim cylinder rebuild question

Sorry there Bond-o, and everyone else. I found my answer... I should have been looking in manual #1 (which is the right one for my engine/drive ) as it has a note saying to to disregard the steps of removing the pivot end, if the pivot end isn't going to be replaced.

For some reason I thought Manual #1 didn't have the trim cylinder rebuild procedure...
