Max spec. Height of the engine to fuel tank ?

I wanted to know if there is a max spec. for a outboard motor height to it's gas tank ? I have a 2000 175 Johnson . what would be the lift ability of the fuel pump ? Is there a way to check the fuel pump vac on the fuel line going into the tank ? Thanks for the input JJB

The fuel tank in my boat sits in the floor, much lower than the motor and it's the old mechanical style pump, not electric vro or something of that nature. How much lower than the motor is it going to be??? If mine were any lower it would be in the water. The line itself going from the tank to the motor is at least 7 ft long, that should be an indicator that these pump's provide pretty good suction.
