I have a 1984 Procraft, Pro 1750, What is the max recommended horse power for this type boat? There is no placard designated max horse power, the boat is in good shape, well taken care of, I have a 140 Evinrude now, considering 150 or 175 in a 90's version. If I upgrade the horse power, will the old controls still hook up? Any help would be deeply appreciated and needed badly very soon!

don't know you're hp rating for your boat, but yes controls for your 84 will hook up to new model omc product, but you will have to get an addapter harness for anything after, I belive 94 or 95.

Howdy, PP.

You can get a rough estimate of maximum safe hp by this formula: (LxW)x2-90

You are probably overpowered already.

Good luck :)

I have an '84 Fish and Ski 1750 and its max HP rating is 150hp. FYI...Max load capacity is 5 people or ??? lbs (just went brain dead). If interested, let me know and I'll send max lb capacity next time I have cover off.

BL...
