I have researched this ad nauseam, and I understand USCG formulas, boat manufacturer hesitancy and insurance concerns. BUT there is a huge difference in rating when the computation factor is greater than 52.5 for boats with remote steering and transom height of 20" or more. In the case of a 16' boat with 6.5' transom width, remote steering with 20" transom height equates to 115 hp. The same boat without remote steering equates to 60 hp.
Does anyone know how you can get the rating revised based on the new steering location?

Ratings don't change from day of manufacture no matter what you do.

Tiller steering always has a lower HP rating than remote steering
