Mats for fishing

For those of you that fish
What type of floor mats are you using to protect your floor.
Blood is hard to get out of wood, stains air floors and aluminum floors get hot
Looking for portable solutions

Car floor mats worked ok but I'm looking for something else
I think this will work

You could wash it down when you finish and protect your floor

I was thinking about marine carpet to put on the air floor. You can get enough for $60-$70. Would work good for my wife and dog lounging around, not sure about fishing. I don't fish though.

I was thinking about marine carpet to put on the air floor. You can get enough for $60-$70. Would work good for my wife and dog lounging around, not sure about fishing. I don't fish though.

Can The Marine carpet that you are looking at be washed down?
That will be the issue for any carpet you use.
It will also have to be mildew and mold resistant

Autozone and Pep Boys carry rubber floor mat rolls that are both lighter in weight (than The Northern Flooring at least) and way less expensive. I have been using it on my boat and got a roll for around $30. Will take a pic when I get a chance... but it is easy to spot. Black roll with faux diamond plate finish. Easy to wash down. No holes to allow things to slip through. Rolls up easy and weighs nothing... or close to it.,

Can The Marine carpet that you are looking at be washed down?
That will be the issue for any carpet you use.
It will also have to be mildew and mold resistant

Its used on the decks of boats and is suppose to be rubber backed. I am guessing it would be mildew and mold resistant cause its used on boat decks. Would be easy to take out and hose off and I assume it would dry pretty quick. All assumptions on my part.

I just got back from seeing Many Mo and Jack
They had a 4 x8 piece on sale for $19
I got the last one the store had.
Fits great.
Now I'm off to solve a seat issue

Glad to help!!! That's an even better price than I paid!!! Is it the antifatigue one made by Safety Step!? If so you did great on price and I may get seconds, lol. I am mostly finished with the new command center. Just need to rewire the amp and speakers and test out the fishfinder mounting placement on the water (the transducer).

Having major outboard issues now as i am ashamed to say I haven't been doing much as maintenance goes and am now paying the price. The motor sits in pieces well 3 as I am trying to do it without taking off powerhead. Weimed and I may be getting out on his boat tomorrow (good to have friends!!) I have taken off a much needed and deserved day off!

Yeah!
It's the Best Step Anti Fatigue foam floor


I'm working on a new console for my boat now.
My thought process is that it will be an extended seat plank that will rest on top of the tubes in the rear of the boat.
I will mount a fishing chair, the gps, the road holders
It will be secured by the tie down straps and some guide rings I'm adding to it.
It will have a under seat storage bag so I can store my propane and flare gun and xtra PDF

I just couldn't see paying $120 for another seat

What type of wheels are they on your boat?

I want a set of these

Normally quality marine grade carpet will not stain with blood and such. So I am using a good grade marine grade carpet for two reasons. First it doesn't stain or mildew and second, my wife wants some barefoot soft carpet instead of vinyl or painted surface... And she IS my fishing partner... :joyous:

I use a rug that is a hall runner. When they get old my wife throws them out and i noticed one would fit right down the floor of my 12'2" achilles

How do you keep down the mold and mildew?

i haven't encountered that yet but i dont see why they couldnt be hosed down and left outside to dry

The key to keeping any material from growing mildew is to keep it dry. So keeping the carpet washed off and let it dry properly will reduce the change for mildew to have a habitat to grow in. Some materials even have mildew reducing properties and wont allow the mildew a change to get growing. Marine grade quality carpets have such a capability...for the most part... And the sun (UV) will help with that drying process too!
