Re: Math Help

21 feet 7/64 inch if it's 17' 7" X 11'6" Not good on the fraction...

EDIT: Should be 21 feet 17/32" at original proportions...

Re: Math Help

First convert the partial feet to fractions, then you'll need some high school trig to finish this up,,

Re: Math Help

Square foot is no problem. I assumed he wanted to know the diagonal distance... Oh well....

Re: Math Help

Easy use the Pythagorean Theorem

Call the left side A
call the bottom B
Call the diagnal C

A x A + B x B = C x C

A squared plus B squared equals C squared

To take it a step further obtain the square root of C squared and you have the exact distance of the diagnal.

Re: Math Help

Now the question mark was replaced by another emoticon,,, interesting since no emoticon is a question mark.

Re: Math Help

If your X dimension is two straight lines then the following is accurate to a tenth decimal place.

math.png

Angle Theorem; angle A=B=C=D and angle E=F=G=H=I=J=K=L, therefore segment W=X=Y=Z, thus segment W plus Z equal segment X plus Y.

W=126.295"
X=126.295"
Y=126.295"
Z=126.295"

(126.295+126.295)/12= 21.049 feet

W+Z=252.95" = 21 feet 7/16 inch X+Z= 21 feet 7/16 inch (rounded)
