I've got a 2004 Mercury XR6 150hp carburated engine ,I noticed I had current draw on cranking battery,I narrowed it down to the upper voltage regulator,I got voltage to regulator with key switch off,can the regulator be shorted or stator coil bad

There is 12v at the regulators all the time and they do draw a very few microamps when setting...

Ok thanks for info.i didn't know the regulators kept voltage going to them all the time,just thankful there's not a problem
