Mariner (yamaha) 55 el (1987)

My Mariner 55 EL was working fine yesterday. Today I started it and the water is no longer shooting out of the tell tale. Its more like dribbling. There is also a lot of water coming out of the gear linkage hole/gap. I don't recall seeing this before but maybe its because I'm looking more. I have never run the engine without water and I haven't touched the impeller. Anyone any ideas why it would so suddenly stop working and should I see water pouring out of the linkage area.

The pee hole is stopped up. Use some weed eater string to unstop it.

What MH Hawker posted. But I would install a new impeller, If it has not been changed in awhile. peace of mind. .( and I haven't touched the impeller.)???

Thanks to you both. What I meant Mi duckdown was that I hadn't been playing with it to be broken.
