Re: mariner wash screw

I just purchased an old 9.9 Mariner and the guy who sold it gave me the water adapter so I could hook it up to a hose. He ran it at idle and reved it up a bit in foward and reverse with no issues. I think I found a site that might be the part your looking for. They seem to be pretty generic with the size of the fitting. Hope this helps, best of luck .

Re: mariner wash screw

Mine (1982 30 HP) is made in Japan also. The owners manual says that the motor should not be run while on the flush connection. In theory (I guess) water will enter via the flush port and circulate through the cooling system. When I've tried it w/out running the motor the water just flows out the cooling water intake - no indication that it is circulating through the cooling system.

Everything threaded on my motor is metric so you may have a problem with a generic fitting. Why not just use muffs?
