Hi All,
i?m new on this forum but i saw so many good pieces of advice here so i thought this is the place to ask for help.
I have a Mariner 30 hp (689 L 550505, i belive it is a 90?). Previously it has been running whithout any problems. 10 days ago i trailed it (whith the motor "uptilted") in a really rainy weather (bad summer in Sweden this far) for 1,5 hous. Then it sat on the trailer for 10 days until i took it to the sea for a ride. But first i noticed that when i was pumping gas with the "pump" on the fuel hose there was a leakage between the fuel hose connector and the connector on the engine. Furthermore, when i was driving the boat and giving throttle it kind of died. As long as i stayed on low RPMs the motor was running OK. So i put in "neutral" and tried to rev it up, and the engine revved perfect up on high RPMs.
My theory was that the motor couldn?t get sufficient amount of fuel, due to the leakage, while running whith load but whithout load the fuel amount was sufficient. So, i buy and install new fuel connectors (i don?t want a fuel leakage anyway) and take the boat for a test ride. It starts perfectly (even though the battery is low on juice). No fuel leakage. But main problem remains. When i give throttle it just dies. I can run the boat in appr 5 knots. At those RPMs the motor runs very nice too. No missfiring or uneven idling. But on mid and high RPMs i have this problem.
I still believe it is a fuel supply problem.
Fuel filter, fuel pump, carburator, internal fuel hoses, fuel tank?
Or could it be something else, ignition, etc?
Someone whith similar experience?
(Hope you can follow my Swedish style English)
Best Regards
