Always renew rod cap bolts
when reassembling power head.
Threads are cut into both the connecting
rod and rod cap. Tb properly align
cap and rod during reassembly, proceed
as follows: Place rod cap (9) on bearing
half (8) and hold tightly against connecting
rod while threading in bolt. Finger
tighten rod bolts then check rod and cap
alignment. Cap and rod must be perfectly
aligned. After all rod caps and bolts
are installed and aligned, tighten bolts
to 15 in.-lbs. (1.7 N-m) and recheck alignment.
Then tighten bolts to 30 ft.-lbs.
(40.7 N'm) and recheck alignment. If
rods and caps are perfectly aligned,
tighten rod bolts an additional 90 degrees
to complete procedure.
