mariner 60hp 3 cylinder 1988

the carbs on my engine are knackered they are Wm 16-1-3155 and Wm 16-3 -3347 what i want to know i have just purchased carbs from a 50 or 60 hp engine the carbs are the same type but the codes are different they are WM13-1 AND WM13-3 would they still do ?

any ideas anyone ? can i put a older version carb on a newer model ( carbs are the same type ) codes are different

I am running into part numbers that are obsolete, can you please provide the model and serial numbers of the engines involved.

Those Merc 3 cyl, 50/60/70 hp carbs from 1976-1989/90 (?), the WM-6, -8, -9, -11, -13, -15, -16, -18 series are essentially interchangeable. Basically just some minor updates as time went by, like switch from cork to plastic floats, elimination of fuel intake screens, different jet sizes, stuff like that. And all of them use the same gasket kits, needles and floats, etc.

EDIT: Just make sure you're using the right jet sizes specified for your motor in the new carbs, might have to transplant those from the old.

thanks i will change the jets over the reason i changed the carbs is because their was a couple of hair line cracks one was in where the seat valve was and the other was where the jet was . thanks for the advice
