Just been given a 5HP Mariner. Very happy. It says 661 L305745 on it, which I think looks like 1978, but no details on ful mix. Reading the posts, I'm pretty certain that it's 50:1, but would appreciate any educated opinions.

Martin Coleman

The best 2 cycle oil for mercury motors is quicksilver. Use 50:1 ratio, thats 16 ounces of quicksilver with 6 gal. fuel

Re: Mariner 5Hp Fuel mix

50:1 is what is recommended by mercury, but 40:1 would be a much better idea. There is no reason not to...
