Have a 1984 mariner 4hp outboard auxiliary on a sailboat. Over the last few years family committments have prevented a lot of boating and the moter has sat. <br /><br />Seems each few yrs I have had an expensive repair. Recently it sat several months without running and now won't start.<br /><br />Trying to work on it myself and save some bucks. I can prime it and it will run on the prime but then stops. <br /><br />I disassembled / re-assembled the carb but no change. Was thinking of getting a carb gasket set but not sure if that would help.<br /><br />Any tips?<br /><br />Also, any ideas / opinions on how long such a motor lasts - wondering if it is time to get a new one.<br /><br />Thanks,<br />Don<br />Also wondered
